Two militants killed in Budgam encounter | KNO

Budgam, February 13 (KNO) : Two militants were killed during nocturnal gunfight that rages between militants and government forces in Wathoora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Wednesday. A police officer while confirming KNO that the killing of two militants said that two dead bodies have been found who identification is being ascertained. He said that search operation is on in the area. Earlier a joint team of army and police launched cordon and search operation in Wathoora area after having specific input about presence of militants in the area. As the joint team of forces approached towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter resulted in killing of two militants. A police officer said that earlier at around 3 am there was brief exchange of fire, later cordon was tightened and fresh contact was established in which two militants were killed.(KNO)
